I haven’t been feeling too well this week, but a simple Facebook message from a high school classmate (after wishing him a Happy Birthday earlier today) immediately brighten my day. He wrote:
I wish i could be more active myself in causes i believe in. The world needs more people like you desperately.
Thank you, Andy. Your message not only made me feel 100x better, but also motivated me to keep being ‘me’. Sometimes it’s exhausting trying to support all the causes that I believe in. Most days I’m emotionally and/or physically drained by trying to be there for everyone who needs a helping hand or a supportive shoulder. But your seemingly simple message gave me more than you could ever realize.
My hope is that you find the courage to pursue your own passions to support the causes that you believe in. It’s the little things in life, like dedicating your life to helping others, that makes everything worthwhile.
